Bird Watching
Bird watching and a nature centric experience there are many varieties of birds are found only in Pithoragarh and Chaukori region. You can spot babblers, tits, bulbuls, warblers, minivets, woodpeckers, pigeons , myna and the colourful barbets. At the Sattal Forest resort, the sunbird, the red billed magpie, the jungle myna, the long tailed minivet and Himalayan bulbul are spotted in the resort premises itself.
Trekking
Chaukori is a hill station in the district of Pithoragarh. Very often, Chaukori is referred to as the ‘Earthen Bowl of Kumaon’ and very rightly so since the village is shaped like a bowl. To the north of Chaukori, lies Tibet and to the south of Chaukori lies Terai. The Mahakali river runs along its eastern boundary and forms the Indo-Nepal international border. This dreamy hill station is perched at an elevation of 2010 meters above sea level. Chaukori is beautifully covered with forests of deodar, pine and rhododendron, and fruit orchards.

Chaukori is a colorful little hill station of the Pithoragarh, Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. This sleepy town is shaped like a bowl (hence the name) and enveloped by Himalayan peaks all around. Halati is 10 km away from Chaukuri. This is a small place, which is surrounded by forests, a small family lives here. There is a 2 kilometer trek to reach here, which goes through the dense forests of Banj, Buransh, from here you can see the Himalayan view like Nanda Devi, Maktoli, Panchuli, etc.it is a very good place for birds watching, you can enjoy nature here, this place is suitable for night camping, living in a tent without light is a different experience.

Mata Bhadrakali
The holy court of Mata Bhadrakali, situated in the Kamasyar valley of Bageshwar of Almora in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, has been the center of faith and devotion for centuries. It is said that the vow made in this court of Mata Bhadrakali never goes in vain. One who with reverence and devotion offers flowers at the feet of the mother with his worship and reverence. He becomes the partaker of ultimate welfare.
This Dham of Mata Bhadrakali is situated in the village of Bhadrakali in Bageshwar district, about 15 km from Kanda, about 15 km from Kanda and about 40 km from the Chaukuri, on the road leading to Bansh Patanserara ghat via Saniudiyar. The place is so captivating that it is really hard to describe...
It is said that the worship of this temple is especially done by the snake girls. In the context of Shandilya Rishi, the daughter of Shri Mool Narayan along with her friends discovered this place. Bhadrapur itself is said to be the abode of Bhadranag, the son of Kaliya Nag. Bhadrakali is their deity.
The ancient temple of Mata Bhadrakali is situated in an unimaginable condition on a large plot of width of about 200 meters. Below this plot, a picturesque mountain river named Bhadreshwar flows within 200 meters of the cave.

There is also a huge water tank called Shakti Kund in the middle of the river flowing in the cave, while in the first a small other cave above the river Lord Shiva-Linga form and just above them in the ground surface Mata Bhadrakali Mata Saraswati. , Lakshmi and Mahakali reside in the form of three self-proclaimed natural bodies.
At the same time, a river flows inside the lower part of the cave. Which is called Bhadreshwar river, this entire river flows inside the cave itself. There are hairs in the mouth of the cave, from which water is dripping all the time. It is believed.
Here three worlds are seen simultaneously on three surfaces. Patal Lok on the surface of the river below, Shiva cave in the middle and Mata Bhadrakali on the surface above are seen together.
According to the local people, this supernatural abode of Mata Bhadrakali is said to be more than 2000 years old. The people of the Joshi family of Bhadrakali village do regular worship in this temple for generations.
Apart from Shrimad Devi Bhagwat, this place is also mentioned in the Manas section of Shiva Purana and Skanda Purana, it is said that Mata Bhadrakali herself did penance at this place for 6 months. Here on the Ashtami date of Navratri, devotees do penance for the whole night with a lamp in their hand to get the desired results. It is said that the feet of Shankaracharya were also lying at this place.
It is said that the British had also declared this place to be of great religious importance, that is, tax-free. Even today no fee is charged here.
Kuldevi of Lord Krishna...
Mata Bhadrakali was the Kuldevi i.e. Ishtadevi of Lord Krishna. Very few people know that there is such a divine and supernatural Virla Dham in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state, which is called Devbhoomi, where Mata Saraswati, Lakshmi and Mahakali reside together at one place.
This place is also considered as one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of Mata. On the basis of the mention of Mata Bhadrakali in Shiva Purana, devotees believe that the right side of the dead body of Dakshakumari Mata Sati had fallen here while being taken by Mahadev Shiva towards Kailash from the sky.
According to the mythological story Skanda Purana related to Bhadrakali temple, Mother Bhadrakali did penance at this place till the month of Chharu. In the meantime, once there was a lot of flood in this river and the water stopped due to a huge rock and water started filling at this place, then mother Bhadrakali threw that rock away from her feet and all the water of the flood came at the feet of mother Bhadrakali. That is why the river flows inside the cave here, on the Ashtami of Chaitra month, a fair is held in the Bageshwar Bhadrakali temple.
The fair held in this temple on the Ashtami of Chaitra month is considered very important. On that day the people who come here for darshan take bath in the reservoir located here which is called Shaktikun. People here believe that taking a bath in this temple cures all diseases.
Patal Bhuvaneshwar
Patal Bhuvaneshwar is one of the most mysterious and spiritual place of Uttarakhand. This hidden pilgrimage situated at 1350 mts above sea level is mainly dedicated to Lord Shiva. Patal Bhuvaneshwar is a limestone cave situated 13kms from Gangolighat in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state.
The way to the Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave goes through a long and narrow tunnel. Other than Lord Shiva the forms of Sheshnag, Kal Bhiarav, Ganesha and several other gods can be seen in Patal Bhuvaneshwar. It is believed that the cave is the abode of 33 crore Gods and Goddesses.
This mystical cave is 160m long and 90 feet deep where limestone rock formations have created various impressive stalagmite figures. Almost every god that you would have heard of resides in this mystifying cave. It is also believed that worship at Patal Bhuvaneshwar is equivalent to worshipping at Char Dham of Uttarakhand.
